1- Data File (Data Files):

These are the files that contain the data we enter through the data editor window to perform thestatistical analysisprocess, as the extension of this type of file ends with the extension (sav, –).

2- Statistical Output Files (Outputs Files):

These are the files that contain the results of statistically analyzed data, and the extension of this type of file also ends with the extension (sav, –).

3- Instruction Files (Syntax Files):

These are the files that contain procedures written in a special programming language to enable users or researchers to perform statistical operations.

In addition to the main components mentioned above, components specific to the program window can be added as follows:

Program WindowsSPSS:

The program contains many windows, the most important of which is the Data Editor window. This window appears automatically when starting the SPSS program, through which data is entered into the program. The Data Editor window in the SPSS program consists of the following parts:

  1. Title bar: Contains the name of the file where the data is stored followed by the phrase (IBM SPSS statistics data editor).
